Reserve 3 strawberries and 3 cookies for later use.
Slice remaining strawberries; freeze 30 min.
Blend milk, ice cream and frozen sliced strawberries in blender until smooth. And remaining cookies; pulse just until blended.
Pour into 3 glasses; top with whipped topping, and reserved cookies and whole strawberries.
Substitute your favorite frozen berries, such as raspberries or blueberries, for the strawberries. Reserve 6 raspberries or 9 blueberries for garnishing the 3 smoothies. Freeze remaining berries, then use to prepare the smoothies as directed. Freezing the berries helps add creamy thickness to the smoothies.
Prepare the smoothies using purchased frozen strawberries. Just be sure to purchase frozen strawberries without added sugar. For the garnish, you can partially thaw 3 of the berries or instead use 3 fresh strawberries.
Substitute frozen vanilla yogurt, or your favorite berry flavor of light ice cream or frozen yogurt for the light vanilla ice cream.
