Makes 12 servings, 1 cookie spider each.
Spread tops of cookies with melted chocolate; place on parchment-covered baking sheet.
Attach 8 pretzel pieces and 2 candy eyeballs to each cookie to resemble spider as shown in photo, gently pressing pretzels and candies into chocolate to secure.
Let stand 10 min. or until chocolate is firm.
After spreading cookies with the melted chocolate, sprinkle them lightly with black- or purple-colored sugar before decorating with the pretzel pieces and candy eyes.
Substitute chocolate chips for the candy eyeballs.
For extra flavor, split the cookies in half, leaving creme filling on one half of each cookie. Spread each plain cookie half with 3/4 tsp. apple butter, hazelnut spread or cinnamon spread. Reassemble cookies, then use to prepare recipe as directed.
