Ingredients
- 4 cups (1 qt.) whole milk
- 1¼ cups sugar
- ¼ tsp. baking soda
- 16 RITZ Crackers
- 4 strawberries, thinly sliced, slices halved
Preparation
- Bring milk, sugar and baking soda just to boil in large heavy saucepan on medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Simmer on low heat 3-1/2 to 4 hours or until milk mixture is thickened and golden brown in color, stirring frequently. (As mixture thickens, you may need to stir constantly to prevent milk mixture from sticking to bottom of pan and burning.) Cool 15 min. Pour into bowl.
- Refrigerate 1 hour.
- Spoon 1 tsp. arequipe onto each cracker just before serving; top with strawberries. Refrigerate remaining arequipe up to 1 week before using as desired.
