VariationOmit the food colorings used to tint the frosting. Pipe untinted frosting onto cooled cupcakes. Sprinkle with purple colored sugar or purple sprinkles, then decorate with the cookie halves and candy eyes.

SubstituteLine the muffin pans with foil liners instead of the paper liners.

Food FactsYou will need about 1/2 tsp. EACH red and blue food coloring, and 2 pkg. (1 oz. each) candy button eyes to prepare and decorate the 24 cupcakes.
