OREO Skull Cookies

OREO Skull Cookies

Prep time10 min
Total time10min
ServingsMakes 1 serving.
Ingredients
  • 3 OREO Cookies
Preparation
  • Twist the top and bottom halves of each cookie in opposite directions to separate the cookie halves, leaving all the creme on one half of each cookie.
  • Carve out the creme into a skull shape using a small metal spatula, toothpick or wooden skewer, carefully removing and discarding the excess creme from around the skulls.
  • Draw the skulls' mouths and noses in the creme using a toothpick or skewer.  Use the tip of a round pastry tube or toothpick to cut small circles in the skulls for the eyes.  Discard the removed creme.
Recipe Tips
  • Hints on Twisting the Cookies Apart
Twist the cookies apart gently in a back-and-forth motion to release one cookie half from the creme.  Or, you can use a small metal spatula to scrape the creme close to one half of the cookie.  Any creme remaining on the plain cookie halves can be spread onto the creme-topped cookie halves.  If desired, you can scrape off and discard any creme smudges with the spatula, skewer or toothpick.
  • Make it Easy
Use small round black candies to make the skulls' eyes, then use black sprinkles or nonpareils to make the skulls' noses and mouths.
