NILLA Bananas Foster "French Toast" Bake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 70 NILLA Wafers
  • 1/4 cup walnut pieces
  • 5 eggs
  • 1-1/4 cups milk
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 2 bananas

Instructions

  • Heat  oven to 350°F.
  • Place  wafers evenly in 1-1/2-qt. casserole dish sprayed with cooking spray; sprinkle with nuts.
  • Whisk  eggs, milk, granulated sugar and spices until blended; pour over ingredients in casserole dish. If necessary, use back of spoon to gently press wafers into egg mixture so all are evenly coated with egg mixture.
  • Bake  30 to 35 min. or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Meanwhile,  cook butter and brown sugar in large skillet on medium heat until butter is completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring occasionally. Stir in maple syrup. Bring to boil; reduce heat to low. Slice bananas; add to skillet. Stir to evenly coat banana slices with sugar mixture. Cook and stir 1 to 2 min. or until heated through.
  • Serve  "French Toast" topped with banana mixture.
