Minions OREO Cupcakes Recipe


  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) Limited Edition Minions Mini OREO Cookies, divided
  • 1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix
  • 24 marshmallows
  • 6 oz. blue candy coating wafers
  • 6 oz. yellow candy coating wafers
  • 1 container (16 oz.) ready-to-spread white frosting
  • 1/4 cup colored sugar
  • 1/4 cup mixed large and mini candy button eyes
  •  Black string licorice (24 inches)


  • Heat  oven to 350°F.
  • Reserve  12 cookies for later use. Prepare cake batter as directed on package; stir in remaining cookies. Spoon into 24 paper-lined muffin pan cups.
  • Bake  as directed on package for cupcakes. Cool 5 min. Remove cupcakes from pans to wire racks; cool completely.
  • Meanwhile,  melt blue candy coating wafers as directed on package. Cover baking sheet with parchment. Dip marshmallows, 1 at a time, halfway into melted candy coating. Let excess coating drip off marshmallows before placing, dipped ends down, in single layer on prepared baking sheet. Let stand until coating is firm.
  • Melt  yellow candy coating. Dip other ends of marshmallows, 1 at a time, into yellow candy coating; return, blue-dipped ends down, to baking sheet. Immediately decorate yellow parts of marshmallows with reserved cookies and remaining ingredients as shown in photo. Let stand until candy coating is firm.
  • Spread  frosting onto cupcakes; sprinkle with colored sugar. Top with decorated marshmallows.

Recipe Tips

Make it SpecialSubstitute blue frosting for some or all of the white frosting. You can either purchase the blue frosting at your grocery store, or tint the canned white frosting with blue food coloring before using as directed.
