Easy Patriotic Pie

Strike up the band, unfurl the flag and grab your pie server. This dessert recipe has red, white and blue layers to show off your holiday spirit in the best way!

  • 8 HONEY MAID Honey Grahams, finely crushed
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ⅓ cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1½ cups boiling water, divided
  • 1 pkg. (3 oz.) berry-blue gelatin
  • 1 cup ice cubes, divided
  • 1 pkg. (3 oz.) strawberry gelatin, or any red flavor
  • 1 cup thawed frozen whipped topping
  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Combine graham crumbs, sugar and butter; press onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate.
  • Bake 8 to 10 min. or until lightly browned.  Cool completely
  • Add 3/4 cup boiling water to blue gelatin mix in medium bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Add 1/2 cup ice cubes; stir until melted. Pour into crust.  Refrigerate 5 to 10 min. or until gelatin layer is set but not firm.
  • Meanwhile, repeat to dissolve red gelatin mix in separate bowl; stir in remaining ice cubes. Cool 5 min. or until slightly thickened.
  • Spread whipped topping over blue gelatin layer; cover with red gelatin. Refrigerate 2 hours or until set.
Recipe Tips
  • Best of Season
    Garnish with fresh seasonal berries just before serving. Or, arrange 1/2 cup berries on bottom of crust before covering with the blue gelatin.
  • Substitute
    Prepare using your favorite 2 flavors of gelatin.
  • For a No-Bake Pie
    Prepare crust as directed but do not bake. Refrigerate until ready to fill.
