Baked Clam Spread Recipe


  • 6 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 large fresh jalapeño pepper, seeded, chopped
  • 1 can (6.5 oz.) minced clams, undrained
  • 4 tsp. lemon juice, divided
  •  RITZ Crackers, divided


  • Heat  oven to 350°F.
  • Cook  and stir bacon in medium saucepan on medium-high heat until crisp. Remove bacon from pan with slotted spoon. Discard all but 2 Tbsp. drippings from pan.
  • Add  butter to reserved drippings; cook until butter is melted and mixture is well blended, stirring frequently. Add onions and peppers; cook 1 min., stirring constantly to scrape browned bits from bottom of pan. Remove pan from heat.
  • Drain  clams; discard 2 Tbsp. of the drained liquid. Add remaining liquid to onion mixture along with the clams and 1 Tbsp. (3 tsp.) lemon juice; mix well.
  • Crush  24 crackers; stir into clam mixture. Reserve 1 Tbsp. bacon for later use. Add remaining bacon to clam mixture; mix well. Spoon into small baking dish.
  • Bake  45 min. or until heated through.
  • Drizzle  with remaining lemon juice; top with reserved bacon.
  • Serve  with additional RITZ Crackers.

Make AheadThe ingredients for this delicious dip can be mixed together ahead of time. Refrigerate up to 8 hours. Remove from refrigerator and let stand at room temperature about 30 min. before baking as directed.
