Canned peach slices and chopped fresh apples are baked under a crumbly topping of crushed vanilla wafers and walnuts for a twist on a classic dessert.

Peachy Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz. each) sliced peaches in extra light syrup, drained
  • 3 medium  baking apples, chopped (about 3 cups)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 40 NILLA Wafers, coarsely crushed (about 1-1/2 cups crumbs)
  • 3/4 cup walnut pieces
  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat  oven to 350°F. Toss peaches with apples in large bowl. Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add to fruit mixture; toss to coat. Spoon into lightly greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  • Mix  wafer crumbs, walnuts and butter; sprinkle over fruit mixture.
  • Bake  30 min. or until topping is browned and fruit is hot and bubbly. Cool slightly.
